Unlike the other European releases of Metal Gear Solid, the German release (SLES 01507 7020067/D) did not come with a playable demo disc. The disc only contains the opening trailer, which can also be seen on the European disc. A Silent Hill poster (0403118983/D) was also included.
Other than the two game discs, manual, demo, and the poster, the game came with a Konami 1999 Software Collection catalog and an advertisement for Metal Gear Solid soundtrack and guide book.
The Software Selection is identical in all different countries, while the manual and advertisement have unique codes for each release, as the Silent Hill poster.
The German Metal Gear Solid Limited Edition Premium Package also came with the demo disc, as it contains the exact same game as shown on this page. Later German issues with an ELSPA logo on the front did not come with the demo.
