Unplugged In New York

12" (black) / test pressing / Original Recordings Group / ORG-034 / made in USA (RTI) / 2009.04.27

The test pressing is for the first Original Recordings Group pressing, manufactured in the USA by Record Technology Incorporated (RTI). [1] Later pressings on ORG Music were manufactured in Germany by Pallas in 2010 and 2011.

The test pressing came in an inner plastic sleeve inside a white cardboard sleeve sealed in loose plastic. The side A label is a generic RTI label, while the side B label is plain white. The date and catalog number were stamped on the sleeve and on side A.

The lacquers were cut in 2009 at Bernie Grundman Mastering [1]. Whether "BG" in the matrix codes identifies Grundman personally as the cutting engineer or the company in general, is unknown. The cutting engineer also wrote the catalog numbers. Both these parts are handwritten. The metal plates were processed by RTI in the USA [1], which added, handwritten, "18293.1/2(3)" to the lacquers before plating them. The number is their internal job number, and also specifies the plating process, the three-step process [2].
