Processing-only facilities
Processing, or plating, involves the making of the various metal plates from the lacquers. Some companies specialize in this only.


 James G. Lee Plating, DBA Lee Processing, DBD Greg Lee Processing

Lee Plating signed their metal plates with L- and five digits, with an added -X on the B-side. They mostly added the code to the lacquers, so it appears deep in the matrix, and on all subsequent metal plates. They made most of the plates for Erika Records, so finding the L-code on a Sub Pop Nirvana release indirectly shows it was made by Erika. They went out of business around 2000.
